It's hard to believe that it's been a whole 3 weeks since my last blog post. I was hoping to make these more frequently, perhaps on a weekly (or bi-weekly) basis. Looking back, there was a ton of stuff that happened, things that were all blog-worthy, but I didn't have the mental capacity to sit down and write a whole post. Instead, I found myself spending small bursts of time scrolling Instagram on my work computer.

What I saw...

My Instagram feed has been coming up with a lot more health-related content. I've seen stuff about how baking soda is a wonder cure (that they buried since it's not profitable), a cold shower / polar pluge gives the same dopamine bump as cocaine but without the crash (I tried it, it's fucking awesome, I've done 1 everyday since, seriously), but a really interesting one I saw compared our brains to a computer. The post was talking about mental load, how brain fog piles up and ruins mental clarity. It said to imagine that in your brain is a bunch of computer programs. If you have too many open, then the computer slows down. If you have too many open-ended tasks, or you're using a ton of mental energy to try and remember everything that you gotta do, then you're ultimately slowing your own brain processes down. You can close programs on a computer and save the progress onto disc to access later. The real world counterpart would be keeping a to-do list, so that you can free up that mental space.

Ok so what

I was feeling burnt out from all the different projects and things I had to do. These things were bogging me down. Sitting down to write a blog seemed a bit careless of me, almost like procrastination. When I would start to write, my brain would creep in with reminders of them. Eventually, these thoughts would overflow my brain, and I wouldn't write anything. After I saw the Instagram post, I started my to-do list up again. Man, I feel a lot better. Usually when things die down I stop using my todo list, but that post was a nice reminder of a great tool. Sometimes social media is a good source of information you wouldn't normally see, and just like anything, too much of a good thing can become bad. I do gotta stop myself from looking at too many posts, it's really hard.

What else going on

Here's a list of things that happened in the last 3 weeks

Farewell

This the end of the post... yeah. This site is kinda boring, I'd like to spice it up some. Too bad I got so many other things to do. The 'blog engine' I use (zonelets) doesn't really remove that much complexity compared to just making a blog the old fashioned way. I might remove it and make my own thing. Anyway, see ya.
